Why open a fiber mill?  Good question.

We have several friends that own fiber producing animals (alpaca, sheep, rabbits, etc.).  During discussions with them, we noticed the length of time they were waiting to get their fiber processed, if they had it processed at all.   We started thinking....

I have been hand-processing fiber for years.  A time consuming process.  So, I started looking at fiber mills to get some of my own fleeces processed.  After a LOT of talking, we decided to open our own mill.

A quick process?  NO.    However, it has been a fun and frustrating learning curve.  There is always something new to learn.  A new fiber, a new washing technique, or a unique dyeing method.

I love processing the fiber into beautiful rovings and yarns.
